Der Jazz-Pianist CHRISTIAN VON DER GOLTZ und der Bass-Minimalist WASSERSTOFF lernten sich kennen bei schönstem Wetter, auf der Party der befreundeten Agentin für englischsprachige Literatur Rebecca K. Morrison in Berlin-Kreuzberg. 

The Jazz pianist CHRISTIAN VON DER GOLTZ and the Bass minimalist WASSERSTOFF got to know each other in the most beautiful weather at the party of their friend Rebecca K. Morrison, an agent for English-language literature in Berlin-Kreuzberg.

Erster gemeinsamer Release war SNOW IN SPRING als Teil der DIPTYCHON Serie des Albums OCCIDENT, benannt nach dem Cover, der Druckgrafik „Abendland“ von Hanna Hennenkemper. Der Reiz, afrikanisch-karibisch inspirierten Uber Minimal mit aktuellem Jazz zu konfrontieren, führte zu der Kooperation COOL BASS mit dem Trompeter Christoph Titz, gefolgt von FLOW mit dem Gitarristen Thomas Büchel.

Their first joint release was SNOW IN SPRING as part of the DIPTYCHON series of the album OCCIDENT, named after the cover, the print “Abendland” by Hanna Hennenkemper. The appeal of confronting African-Caribbean-inspired Uber Minimal with contemporary Jazz led to the collaboration COOL BASS with trumpeter Christoph Titz, followed by FLOW with guitarist Thomas Büchel.

BASS IN THE SKY nimmt den Bass-Jazz Fusion-Faden erneut auf, erweitert als LIVE PERFORMANCE mit CHRISTIAN VON DER GOLTZ am elektronischen Piano und WASSERSTOFF im DJ-Set, zu Bildern der Video-Künstlerin Sonja Toepfer. Die Graphic Art der einzelnen Tracks wird gestaltet von Henrike Ott.

BASS IN THE SKY takes up the Bass-Jazz fusion thread again, expanded into LIVE PERFORMANCE with CHRISTIAN VON DER GOLTZ on the electronic piano and WASSERSTOFF in the DJ set, to images by video artist Sonja Toepfer. The graphic art of the individual tracks is designed by Henrike Ott.
